Wegman Design Group wins Sand Dollar Award for interior design at Discovery Village, Naples’ newest senior community

NAPLES, Fla. (Sept. 30, 2015) – Wegman Design Group received the award for best interior design of a healthcare facility at the Collier Building Industry Sand Dollar Awards gala which took place on Sept. 26 at the Ritz-Carlton Tiburon in Naples, Fla. This prestigious honor was for their work at Discovery Village at Naples, Southwest Florida’s newest and most advanced senior community.

The Wegman design team was recognized for fulfilling the vision of Discovery Village: to create assisted living and memory care residences, dining areas and social spaces that reflect the community’s lifestyle and encourage residents to enjoy a multitude of amenities.

“With our clients’ valuable input, we brought their vision to life by creating feature-rich residential apartments blended with resort style amenities and a home-like environment,” said Lori Wegman, ASID, IIDA, owner and principal of Wegman Design Group. “Our goal was to design each community destination with a unique identity to meet the needs and expectations of the prospective residents and their families.”

Wegman Design Group modeled each Individual Assisted Living resident room after apartment-style living. In the 30-bed Memory Care residence, the design was focused on the goal to promote physical and mental wellbeing, and to create social opportunities. Throughout the 120,800 square foot space, the design team selected finishes for wall coverings, a custom mural and decorative lighting as well as furnishings, custom mill work, artwork, interior signage and accessories.

The Sand Dollar Awards are presented each year to member builders, developers, architects, remodelers, interior design firms, landscape architects, trades and marketing, sales and/or advertising professionals who have demonstrated building, design and marketing excellence in the Collier County area.

The coveted Sand Dollar Award, the highest accolades given by the Sales and Marketing Council of the Collier Building Industry Association, are presented annually at the September gala.  The awards are presented to the winners as a result of onsite judging by experts from across the State of Florida.

“Our design concept was to translate the look and feel of the larger flagship store to the smaller location at the Waterside Shops,” said senior project manager Kelly Scott.  “We used pops of green, blue and pink that played off chocolate brown and pure white for a crisp, whimsical and elegant ambience.”

NAPLES, FL (Feb. 13, 2013) – Patients and visitors to the NCH Healthcare System will be welcomed by a whole new look. Wegman Design Group recently remodeled the NCH main lobby, gift shop and café.  The new space has updated architectural and design features and provides better functionality for visitors.

“The main lobby of NCH had not been updated in a major way since it was originally built, “ commented Lori Wegman, principal of Wegman Design Group. “We incorporated lighter, more neutral colors along with opening up the ceiling and improving traffic flow. The overall result is bright, inviting and open.”

In addition to aesthetics, Wegman Design Group added an entry vestibule for easier access to the concierge and information desk.  This feature also provides better climate control.

Wegman Design Group designs new orthodontic practice

FORT MYERS, FL (January 14, 2013) – Wegman Design Group completed the full interior design of the newly opened Lakes Park Orthodontics & Children’s Dentistry, including nine treatment rooms, an orthodontics bay, staff offices and the waiting area.  The design concept offers patients a spa-like experience with a whimsical feel that is both welcoming and modern.

“By creating a modern esthetic instead of a highly themed children’s space, the dental practice will have broader appeal to younger children, teens and their parents,” stated Loren Wegman, senior designer of Wegman Design Group.

Wegman Design Group incorporated neutral tones of grey, white and amber cherry wood with pops of green and orange for color.  Underwater photography of tropical reef life and schools of fish complements the accent colors and adds movement and texture to the walls.
